Advanced coatings

Enhancing Performance at the Smallest Scale

Our BioDep process creates uniform nanoscale coatings on virtually any surface. We work with our partners to develop a range of coatings to fight infection, enhance lubricity, reduce thrombus formation, improve biocompatibility and to deliver therapeutics from implantable device surfaces.

Our coatings are extremely thin and uniform. Due to our unique plasma process approach, these films are also highly adherent, repeatable and functional. Whether applied as primers or final finishes, these coatings can reduce overall thickness, increase uniformity and enhance performance.

By replacing traditional thick primer layers with nanoscale surface modifications, we offer the ability to dramatically shrink the thickness of lubricous hydrophilic coatings on catheters, or other coatings for applications such as drug delivery coatings or antimicrobial functionality. This can be achieved while also improving adhesion to difficult to coat materials like nitinol, polypropylene or polyethylene.
