Bryan Hoadley​

Chief Executive Officer​

Bryan is a C-Level executive with deep experience scaling innovative, technology-driven businesses from early growth through commercialization. Bryan brings a disciplined, execution-focused approach to turning complex science into differentiated, market-ready solutions. With a background in aeronautical engineering from California Polytechnic University, SLO and an Executive MBA from Stanford, he combines technical rigor with strategic vision, operational leadership and creating environments where others thrive and succeed. Outside of work, Bryan enjoys hiking big mountain summits, riding his bikes, and a great glass of wine with friends and family—pursuits that reflect his commitment to relationships and a healthy lifestyle.

Liam O’Neill​

Chief Technical Officer & Founder​

Liam leads the scientific strategy and technological development behind the company’s bioactive surface platform. With a Ph.D. in Chemistry from University College Cork and deep expertise in surface science, R&D leadership, and technology commercialization. Liam has been instrumental in translating advanced coating technologies into scalable, high-impact applications. Outside of the lab, Liam’s greatest priority is his family, and he values balance and strong personal connections as essential to sustained innovation and long-term leadership.

Richard Fernandes​

Chief Operating Officer​

Richard leads operations, commercial execution, manufacturing scale‑up, and strategic growth as the company advances its bioactive surface technology into global markets. Richard brings extensive experience in scaling life science business, building commercial, operational and innovation, R&D systems, driving product readiness, and aligning teams to meet customer, regulatory, and supply chain expectations. He holds a Ph.D. in Immunology & Biochemistry rom National University Ireland and an MBA from Dublin City University. Outside of work, Richard enjoys all sports and cherishes quality time with his family including a totally spoiled dog, Bailey, reflecting his belief that balance, curiosity, and connection fuel long‑term success.

Jonathan Lipsky​

VP Business Development​

Jon leads our Life Science market strategic partnerships, market engagement, and growth initiatives that connect the company’s bioactive surface technologies with key customers and partners. He holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Massachusetts and an MBA from Babson College. Jon brings extensive experience in project leadership, technical collaboration, and aligning customer needs with business strategy to accelerate commercial impact. Prior to TheraDep, Jon drove cross-functional initiatives in complex technology environments. Outside of work, he enjoys skiing, spending time at the beach with family and friends, and walks with his dog, Maggie.

James Hynes

Director of Life Science R&D

James leads research strategy, scientific development, and productization for the company’s bioactive surface technologies. With deep experience in R&D leadership, commercially-focused innovation and customer-centric technology productization, James brings proven expertise in translating complex science into market-leading solutions. He holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, with postgraduate training in management and project leadership, and prior to TheraDep, held senior leadership roles in life science technology and product development in both start-up and matrixed corporate environments. Outside of work, James enjoys staying active outdoors and traveling with his family.

Rich Ellson

Strategic IP & Business Dev Advisor

Rich brings decades of experience in scientific innovation, engineering leadership, and commercialization. He is a co-founder and former CTO of Labcyte, where he helped pioneer acoustic liquid handling technologies that transformed life science research. Rich holds over 90 issued US patents and is a Fellow of the Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS), reflecting his lasting impact on the Life Sciences industry. Outside of work, he enjoys creative problem-solving, outdoor pursuits, and time with family and friends.

Maram Abeidi

Research Chemist

Maram supports the development and optimization of plasma coating processes for bioactive surface technologies. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry with Forensic Science and brings strong analytical rigor to process optimization, parameter development, and early-stage testing to assess coating quality and consistency. Maram plays an important role in ensuring reproducibility and performance as technologies move from development toward scale. Outside of work, she enjoys reading true crime books, reflecting her curiosity, attention to detail, and investigative mindset.

Saoirse Murray O’Neill

Biotechnologist

Saoirse is a Biotechnologist in the cell culture laboratory, where she investigates how the company’s bioactive surface coatings influence cellular behavior. Saoirse first joined TheraDep in 2024 during an eight-month undergraduate placement and returned in 2025 to continue collaborating on advancing core research programs. She earned a Bachelor’s (Honours) degree in Bioanalysis and Biotechnology from TUS. Outside of the lab, Saoirse enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family.

Larissa Slattery

Systems Manager

Larissa supports quality systems, documentation, and cross-functional coordination across TheraDep. She has been part of the team since the company’s early days, contributing to its growth from concept through early commercialization. With a background in business management, validation, quality auditing, and event coordination, Larissa brings broad operational expertise shaped by experience in medical and pharmaceutical environments. She is passionate about health and wellness building on more than 20 years of learning in human health. Outside of work, Larissa enjoys time with her family, walking her dog, camper van weekends, and running educational wellbeing events.

Ethan Morrissey

Biomedical Engineer

Ethan works on the development of a novel angioplasty balloon coating for the treatment of vascular disease using the company’s BioDep coating platform. He holds a Master of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering from Munster Technological University, Cork, and began his role at TheraDep in February 2024. Ethan’s work is conducted in collaboration with University College Cork, where he is pursuing a PhD within the School of Pharmacy. He also supports the broader team by expanding TheraDep’s technical capabilities. Outside of work, Ethan enjoys restoring his classic car, 3D printing, and Arduino programming.

Vinay Kumar

Development Scientist

Vinay works on innovative biomedical and plasma-based technologies for medical devices and life science applications. He brings a strong academic foundation in physics and biomedical science, enabling an interdisciplinary approach to research, development, and problem solving. Alongside his role at TheraDep, Vinay is a PhD researcher at Technological University of the Shannon (TUS), focusing on Cold Atmospheric Plasma (CAP) and its potential applications in healthcare. His work supports the advancement of scalable, science-driven solutions. Outside of work, Vinay enjoys swimming, gym training, exploring new places, and activities that support physical and mental well-being.

Fiona O’Neill

R&D Manager

Fiona is R&D Manager for medical devices where she oversees a multidisciplinary team from concept through to finished product. Her background in polymer chemistry and thin-film deposition using plasma technology drives innovative surface modifications that optimize biocompatibility, durability, and antimicrobial efficacy of medical devices to support better patient outcomes. She has an M.Sc. in Analytical Chemistry from University College Cork and prior to TheraDep a background in the pharmaceutical and food production industry. Beyond her professional role, she is dedicated to family time and to sustaining balance between work and life.

Darryl Fry

Board Member

Darryl is a seasoned entrepreneur, operator, and board leader with a proven track record of building and scaling businesses. He organically grew Community Lending from a startup to over 1,000 employees with operations across 43 states and has founded and served as CEO of six startups and two current operating companies. Darryl currently serves on three boards and is the Co-founder of South Valley Angels. A BYU graduate in Economics, he has authored six nationally published articles on team building and business leadership. Outside work Darryl enjoys spending time reading, voluntary church service, pickleball, and extensive travel with family and friends.

Michael J. Martin

MD, MPH, MBA, Board Member

Dr. Martin is a physician executive and medical innovator with 34+ years of clinical experience. As CEO or President of four healthcare companies, he has driven clinical adoption of breakthrough medical technologies while delivering strategic business results. Board-certified in internal medicine and preventive medicine, Dr. Martin serves on the clinical faculty at UCSF, where he also trained. His education includes the University of Chicago, Yale, and UC Berkeley, with an MPH and MBA from Berkeley. His leadership uniquely bridges clinical excellence and commercial success. When not advancing healthcare innovation, Mike enjoys hiking, traveling, and time with his three children and five grandchildren.

Richard M Eglen

PhD, Board Member

Richard is a distinguished life science executive with extensive expertise in drug discovery, life science tools, and healthcare investment. He currently holds the position of Board Chair at Okomera and Phenovista, Board Member at SynVivo and Senior Advisor to Arsenal Capital Partners. He has held numerous senior leadership roles, including Vice President and General Manager of Corning Life Sciences and President of PerkinElmer Biodiscovery. Richard has authored ~350 publications and 12 patents, earning his PhD in Molecular Pharmacology from Nottingham Trent University, UK. In his leisure time, Richard enjoys hiking, watercolor painting, and is a proud owner of a 1971 El Camino SS.

Darel Hodgson

PhD., Board Member

Darel is a pioneer in shape memory alloy technology with over 50 years of experience advancing the manufacture and medical application of Nitinol. He holds multiple patents covering shape memory alloy uses and manufacturing methods. He is a Fellow of the American Society for Materials, where he has been a member for more than 60 years. Darel founded Shape Memory Applications, Inc., acquired in 2001, and co-founded the Shape Memory and Superelastic Technologies (SMST) professional society and conference. He earned his Ph.D. in Materials Science from Stanford University. Outside of work, Darel enjoys golf, bridge, travel, and time with his wife Janine, two daughters, and four grandchildren.

Jason Turner

Board Advisor

Jason is a seasoned medical device executive and board advisor with deep expertise in commercialization, strategy, and scaling high-growth healthcare companies. He is CEO of Vantis Vascular, developing an Advanced Vascular Delivery System for complex PCIs. He is also a board member of Efemoral Medical. Previously, Jason was COO of Venclose, acquired by BD, where he led operations and commercial strategy through a successful exit. He also played a key role at Access Closure, acquired by Cardinal Health. Outside of work, he enjoys a great glass of wine with friends, spending time with his family, and seeking outdoor adventures, pursuits that reflect his passion and balanced approach to leadership.
